Helping build the EV network
Helping build the EV network
With combatting climate change now a top national priority, a huge network of electric vehicle (EV) charging points is rapidly taking shape across the country. Our sister company, Enable Infrastructure, is at the forefront of this fast-growing EV charging market, working with BP. The global energy company is committed to investing £1 billion in EV charging in the UK over ten years and to tripling its total number of charging points – including rapid and ultra-fast chargers in key locations – by 2030.
Enable Hire has supplied all the site power tools needed, as well as 1.5T and 3T excavators. And since the installations are generally being done while fuel station forecourts remain open to members of the public, Enable Hire has made sure the work is as unobtrusive as possible, using battery-powered equipment to reduce noise.
We have also supplied all the eco-friendly, on-site welfare needed for the contractors carrying out this work through Enable Welfare, acknowledged experts in low and zero-carbon welfare solutions. Our towable ECO cabins have been delivered to every petrol station as the EV charge points are installed. Small and nimble with a low footprint, our ECO Hybrid units feature both solar panels and integrated HVO diesel generators (carbon-neutral when powered with HVO fuel), while our ECO Smart Hydrogen units are powered by a low-maintenance fuel cell that generates zero CO2 emissions. In the summer months, all these ECO units typically operate on 99% solar power.
